Every. Single. Time.

There’s a common saying in the culture war: SJWs always project. This saying relates to the fact that anything a Social Justice Warrior accuses you of, they’re likely guilty of it themselves. This has turned out to be true yet again for an activist artist going by the handle of Julian, who had advocated for deplatforming artists that draw lewd loli images.

Since the U.N., proposed the criminalization of sexualized or suggestive imagery of “underage” fictional characters – a proposal that many saw as a direct attack on anime and manga – there has been a steady escalation of censorship on loli and shota imagery. Many of the bans have been advocated for and encouraged by Social Justice Warriors. One such individual is Twitter user Julian, who made the following post on March 1st, 2019.

The tweet was liked more than a thousand times and received well over 500 retweets. It then became part of a thread, where Julian went on to further explain…

“Not afraid of these artists followers searchbombing me but i AM afraid of twitter picking up keywords and suspending me for threats so thats why i censored what i did

“feel free to use this whenever you see someone drawing porn of the pokemon trainers!

“Adding to this again but if you do nsfw cosplays of underaged characters you suck just as much as the people drawing porn of said underaged characters

“hey you stupid freaks it’s obvious you’re not gonna change my mind on this and i’m not gonna change yours so why dont you do us both a favor and not out yourself as a pedophile apologist before coming onto my tweet with some headass excuses

“[…] I’ve been checking back on this tweet to block freaks defending pedophilia and i just want to say one last thing: I’m going to block you if you come in here defending pedophilia. 100%. I don’t owe you my time to “debate” you on this. You’re a freak and I want you away from me”

Further into the thread Julian expounds more on the reasoning for championing the ban on lewding lolis by stating that it’s “gross” and that it makes it easier to groom children and make kids victims, even though Danish reports indicated that people who view and draw loli images are actually less likely to engage in physical contact with real kids.

Even still, Julian wrote…

“Alright a couple things here. No one should feel the need to draw children in sexual situations, fictional or not its gross and wrong. Second of all, adults use art like this to groom children into thinking it’s okay to be in nsfw spaces, making them easier targets and victims.

“If you still can’t understand why this kind of art shouldn’t exist and why the people who make it are gross, then I’m done with this conversation.”

Well, after an archived thread exposing Julian was made by Never_Smug on April 28th, 2019, Julian fessed up and Twitter user Mei made sure everyone knew about it.

The “pansexual” artist with pronouns in his Twitter bio pinned a tweet on his account that links to a Twitlonger post published on April 29th, 2019, where Julian confessed to sending not safe for work images of himself to a minor.

The first half of the post starts with Julian writing…

“A thread detailing my past actions has surfaced today, things that I have been running from for almost 2 years, and now I’m writing this to give you the truth. I’m sorry, but yes.

“First thing to address, yes I am guilty of having sent unsolicited nsfw pictures of myself to a minor. This was in 2014, and I had an extremely unhealthy mindset that my actions online didn’t really matter, and that I could do whatever I wanted to. This was the last time I had ever done something like this, but things unfortunately do not get better from here.

“Around this time, 3 years ago, I (19 at the time) was in a relationship with someone (17 at the time). During this relationship, I had them engage in sexual acts that they were uncomfortable with. No physical force was used, but I kept asking and begging until they agreed. To make matters worse, after our relationship ended, I ghosted them heavily, and made them believe that everything was their fault. At the time, I fully believed that I hadn’t done anything wrong, and that our relationship was 100% consensual. Even after I was first confronted about all of this a year later in summer of 2017, I still didn’t understand, and I responded to my victim with lashing out and gaslighting. I wish so much that I had known better then, because I should have known better, and this never should have happened in the first place.”

This has been common behavior from the Social Justice branch of those who engage in identity politics across social media.

We’ve seen it so often in the recent past, where people like Shane Butler, an indie developer who criticized and attacked TotalBiscuit for supporting #GamerGate, turned out to be a child pornographer.

There was also the former NeoGaf moderator, Christopher Goldberg, who was vehemently anti-#GamerGate, publicly derided anime fans, and was also heavily involved in collecting child pornography. Goldberg was arrested and sentenced to two years in prison.

Matt Hickey, a former games and tech journalist, was also against #GamerGate, and penned a piece criticizing Microsoft for hiring go-go dancers at an after party during the Game Developers Conference. Matt Hickey considered himself a male feminist. However, for over a decade he had been drugging and raping women. Matt Hickey was sentenced to three years in prison.

Julian hasn’t been arrested yet, but explains in the Twitlonger post how after doing what he did he decided to embrace Social Justice in order to create a “safe” and “positive” place for people, writing…

“However, now I of course know that my actions were disgusting and wrong and that I should have known better. After everything happened, I ran away and hid from my old group of friends and started over. Starting at that point, I decided to finally learn from and reflect on my actions and become a better person, and since then I have made it my mission to create a safe and positive place for people to enjoy and be happy in. I have grown and learned so much since then, and I fully intend to continue growing and learning and provide a place for people to be happy. I will not be running from this anymore.

“I doubt my victim will be reading this, but I am so sorry to you, and I hope you have been able to recover.

“I’m sorry to everyone reading this that you had to learn all of this about me this way. I can only promise you that I will continue striving to be better as I have been for almost 2 years.

“I know without a doubt that this will be triggering to a lot of you and unforgivable to even more, so I encourage you to please do what is best for you, even if that means cutting me off for good. I completely understand, and I’m sorry.”

This is a typical case of someone persecuting others based on the skeletons in their own closet.

As noted in the Twitlonger post, Julian announced a hiatus from streaming, writing…

“I will be taking a month long hiatus from streaming starting today. This will give all my viewers and subs a chance to unfollow and unsubscribe. During this time, I will also not be active on my main and art twitter accounts. If anyone would like to talk, I will have discord notifications enabled and I will be happy to answer any questions.”

He reiterated that sentiment on Twitter, too, saying that he would be taking a break.

He was ridiculed and shamed by the Twitter denizens for being a “hypocrite”, especially for going after artist Shadman, who is known for making adult art.

The common lesson here is that it seems the people who are intent on calling others “pedophiles”, “perverts”, and “bigots” are usually first to fit the descriptions once their past deeds start unfolding under the public spotlight.
